Street Art Cities

As a child, Crystal Wagner drew numerous imaginary birds. Nature remained an important element in her subsequent art. Her paper and textile installations merge different colours, figures and textures and take over the entire space with their imposing shapes. This young American creates everything by hand and uses every available corner of the room.

During The Crystal Ship she occupied the ‘Feest-en Cultuurpaleis’ in a spectacular manner with an enormous construction made of textile. The art installation incorporates the organic shapes and natural elements that are inseparable to Wagner’s signature style. She joined forces with Refu Interim, an organisation employing refugees.

Als kind tekende Crystal Wagner volop imaginaire vogels en natuur bleef meteen een belangrijk element in haar latere kunst. Haar papier- en textielinstallaties versmelten verschillende kleuren, figuren en texturen en nemen door die imposante vorm de ruimte helemaal over. De jonge Amerikaanse werkt alles uit met de hand.

Tijdens The Crystal Ship nam ze het Feest- en Cultuurpaleis op spectaculaire wijze over met een gigantische textielconstructie. Ze werkte trouwens samen met Refu Interim, een organisatie die vluchtelingen werk biedt.
