The City of Seraing officially inaugurated this fresco created in honour of Nadège Abbate on Thursday 10 December 2020.
The redevelopment of the Rue de Tavier was one of the main objectives of the Local Council, which worked in close collaboration with the father of Nadège Abbate, who was fatally injured by a hit-and-run driver in the Rue de Tavier a few years ago.
As a result, a number of installations have been put in place to make the road safer for all users. Alongside these essential measures, the City of Seraing was keen to pay a final tribute to the young Seraing woman by dedicating a mural to her not far from the commemorative plaque that was erected in her name in 2019.
A veritable work of art, measuring an average of 30 metres by 3.5 metres, created by artist Olivier Gratia over the space of several days. It depicts Nadège's face against a backdrop of African writing. Highlighting her origins, all encircled by shades of blue, her favourite colour.
