HI, HOW ARE YOU

Description

This mural is the "Hi, How Are You" painting, a famous cultural landmark in Austin, Texas, featuring a whimsical character known as "Jeremiah the Innocent". Painted in 1992 by the late cult singer-songwriter and artist Daniel Johnston, it originally appeared on his 1983 album cover. The mural has become a memorial site for fans to pay their respects to Johnston, who passed away in 2019. Originally painted on the Sound Exchange record store, several businesses have occupied the space and preserved the mural. Today, the building has been demolished, but the mural lives!
