Stanmore Public Library

A library is a place of community significance, a store of information, accessible to all. This artwork allows the library to emerge from the garden and become a community focus. Employing a bold, graphic language the facade makes reference to the varied collection the library offers. The colours and forms remind us that the library is a creative and contemporary civic space, no longer just about books.
Commissioned through Perfect Match, matching artists with residents and community to collaboratively produce site specific street artworks. Several other elements in the park around the library have also gotten the same colour motif.
