Aeroparque

Description

This mosaic work is the entrance sign to the "Aeroparque" neighborhood.

Miramar is a touristic city in Argentina, that in the last 10 years, street art has begun to have an enormous presence, changing not only the urban landscape, but also the territory, and therefore society itself.

The rise of street art began with the first International Art Biennial in 2013, and its sixth edition being completed in 2023. The different editions of the biennials have enriched the city with an enormous, varied and valuable heritage.

This work shows this process of transformation that the city is undergoing.

“Aeroparque Vuela en Arte – La Bienal en tu Barrio”  (“Airport flies in Art – The Biennial in your neighborhood” was a program that emerged from international art biennials, generating continuity. It sought to link art and culture to neighborhoods, generating identity and belonging. It was applied in the “Aeroparque” neighborhood from July 23 to August 3, 2019.

In the last 10 years, street art in Miramar, Argentina, has begun to have a great presence, changing landscape, territory, and society itself. I believe that art changes a society and we are in this process of transformation. The rise of street art has begun with the Intl. Art Biennials since 2013, wich enriched the city with valuable heritage. My intention is to be able, to account for the great quantity and variety of works, helping give visibility to the works, their artists and the city.
