Street Art Cities

This mural is part of the Museum Murals project, connecting museums nationwide with artists. The project consists of 20 mural created for 20 musea by 20 street artists.

In this case, duo Zender & Chaos was matched with Rijksmuseum voor Oudheden in Leiden. The artists got their inspiration for this work in one the top pieces of the museums collection; the Roman age mask of Corbulo. The mask was found in 1996 in the vicinity of the location where the Roman fortress of Matilo.

Deze muurschildering maakt deel uit van het project Museum Murals, dat landelijk musea koppelt aan artiesten. Het project omvat 20 muurschilderingen die gecreeerd zijn voor 20 musea door 20 street art kunstenaars.

In dit geval, werd het duo Zender & Chaos gekoppeld aan het Rijksmuseum voor oudheden in Leiden. De kunstenaars hebben hun inspiratie voor dit werk gevonden in een van de topstukken van het museum; het Romeinse masker van Corbulo. Het masker werd in 1996 gevonden in de omgeving van de locatie waar het Romeinse fort Matilo gevestigd was.
