Loste’s mural offers a heartfelt tribute to Sicilian agriculture, drawing inspiration from Vittorio De Seta’s poetic documentaries. At its center is a farmer whose lined face and worn hands reflect a lifetime of labor and resilience. His movements—sowing, shifting soil, working with deliberate care—capture the wisdom and precision passed down through generations. Kneeling in a posture that blends exhaustion with devotion, he balances himself with one arm while continuing his task with the other, embodying the quiet heroism of those who endure the island’s harsh sun to cultivate its fields.

A red circle frames his face, functioning as a symbolic halo that honors the dignity of agricultural work and the joy found in its rhythms. Through this simple yet powerful gesture, the mural elevates the farmer’s toil to something sacred. Loste encapsulates the mystery, sacrifice, and enduring beauty of working the land, celebrating the profound humanity within everyday labor.
