After the introduction and the engagement weeks I spent in Glasgow, through workshops ,research and conversations, I was able to realize the neighbourhood’s deep-rooted connection to the working class and the evolving diversity it holds today.
I was particularly drawn to the works of Eric Watt and Oscar Marzaroli—the way they captured the raw energy of the streets in their time. One image, of a little girl sticking her tongue out, especially caught my attention.
To me, the city itself feels like that cheeky child, playfully defiant. Evolution and progress come with battles, but not all battles need to be fought wi’ yer hauns, pop out your tongue!
