The streets Jesús del Gran Poder and Santa Ana, in the historic center of Seville, show off on the metal closures of an establishment two murals in homage to the emblematic singer Silvio Fernández Melgarejo (1945-2001), the work of graffiti artists Bisho Sevillano and Rochihiro .

As the record company Senator Música, promoter of this graffiti, recalls, the legendary rocker Silvio “was a precursor of a way of singing and a fan of the traditions” of Seville, especially Holy Week. The artist, according to said label, “was part of this record company, where he left his mark.”

Hence this tribute released precisely this Friday of Sorrows prior to the recovery of the Holy Week processions, suspended for two years due to the pandemic.

Thus, this reference of rock from the 80s in Andalusia, which already has a street with its name in the Los Remedios neighborhood, adds a new tribute in the form of a mural in the center of the city, on Jesús del Gran street Can.

The work was made by graffiti artists Bisho Sevillano and Rochihiro, two urban artists who have managed to capture the essence of the most famous Sevillian rocker of the 80s.

Las calles Jesús del Gran Poder y Santa Ana, en pleno casco histórico de Sevilla capital, lucen en los cierres metálicos de un establecimiento sendos murales en homenaje al emblemático cantante Silvio Fernández Melgarejo (1945-2001), obra de los grafiteros Bisho Sevillano y Rochihiro.

Como recuerda la discográfica Senador Música, promotora de este grafiti, el mítico rockero Silvio “fue precursor de una forma de cantar y un apasionado de las tradiciones” sevillanas, sobre todo de la Semana Santa. El artista, según dicho sello, “formó parte de esta casa discográfica, donde dejó huella”.

De ahí este homenaje estrenado precisamente este Viernes de Dolores previo a la recuperación de las procesiones de Semana Santa, suspendidas dos años a cuenta de la pandemia.

Así, este referente del rock de los años 80 en Andalucía, que ya cuenta con una calle con su nombre en el barrio de Los Remedios, suma un nuevo homenaje en forma de mural en el centro de la ciudad, en la calle Jesús del Gran Poder.

La obra ha estado realizada por los grafiteros Bisho Sevillano y Rochihiro, dos artistas urbanos que han conseguido captar la esencia del rockero sevillano más famoso de los años 80.
