Right next to the Neris River, on the wall of the Art Spaces building, Darius Janonis’s “Antakalnis Duck” appears to “float.” The work was created over four warm summer days and became a gathering place for the community -curious passersby would stop to watch the artistic process unfold. The idea came to the artist quite simply: he lived nearby and decided to immortalize the ducks he had seen on the banks of the Neris. Thus, an everyday sight turned into a playful accent that blends seamlessly into the Antakalnis environment, a reminder that even the simplest cityscapes can become its symbols.
