“The leeway or deviation of a vessel from its true course due to the effect of wind, sea, or current.”
This time, the idea was to move away from a static image and create a mural that tells a story, a narrative.
The main inspiration came from Ernest Hemingway’s book The Old Man and the Sea.
It is a work that speaks of solitude and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity, among other nuances.
The mural features elements that represent the energy and power of nature and, at the same time, its influence on human beings.
I decided to create it using a palette that ranges from white to black, passing through mid-tones (grays), employing the chiaroscuro technique (the contrast between light and shadow).
The idea is for light to prevail over shadow.
This 17-meter mural is part of the BesArt project, The River Museum, located on the walls along the Besòs River in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Barcelona.
