Painted in August 1991 over one evening, made as a gift to the Newtown community. The mural reflects three themes from the 20th century: gender equality, environmental activism and civil rights. The focus of Martin Luther King is also a reference to the location that it’s on: King Street. It is said to be the most photographed street art in Australia. The artwork was heritage listed in December 2014, a move that the artist calls brave and extraordinary.

Behold, the Dreamer cometh.
Come now therefore,
and let us slay him...
and we shall see
what will become
of his dreams. - Jacobs Brothers
