Smates was invited to paint this eye-catcher for the opening of the new Descheemaecker Pigeon Experience Center. 
He painted a giant pigeon with #8.818, a famous pigeon in the scene who was very succesfull last year. This pigeon is used in a breeding program of this huge facility.
