Noir Artist (Lucien Gilson) est un jeune artiste plasticien et peintre muraliste formé à Saint-Luc Liège. Il réalise des toiles, peintures, dessins, fresques monumentales, art mural, trompe l’oeil, décoration et design urbain, ce travail « au noir » laisse peu de regards indifférents.
Inspiré par la pub, le pop art, l’art baroque ou encore la calligraphie, NOIR Artist décline avec grâce ses obsessions picturales hyperréalistes et ses envolées plus abstraites. Par sa fresque « Don’t sleep on your dream », Noir Artist a apporté sa touche de figuration surréaliste au projet.

NOIR Artist is een Belgisch plastisch kunstenaar en muurschilder uit Luik, waar hij in het Saint-Luc zijn opleiding genoot. Hij schildert doeken en ook muurfresco's op quasi elk formaat en elke ondergrond. Maar wel steeds met zwarttinten (vanwaar zijn artiestennaam). Of toch bijna steeds: af en toe kruipt er ook wat kleur of goud in zijn leefwereld. Schilderwerken, tekeningen, grote fresco's, muurkunst, gezichtsbedrog, decoratie en stadskunst; zijn “zwarte” werken laten weinigen onberoerd. NOIR Artist
laat zich inspireren door reclames, pop art, barokkunst en kalligrafie. Zo slaagt hij er op stijlvolle manier in om zijn hyperrealistische schilderobsessies en zijn meest abstracte herinneringen af te zweren.

NOIR Artist is a Belgian plastic artist and mural painter from Liège, trained at Saint-Luc Liège. He creates paintings as well as mural frescoes in almost all formats and all types of support. But always in shades of black (‘NOIR’). Or almost, since colour and gold now also have their place in his universe. Paintings, drawings, monumental frescoes, mural art, trompe l'oeil, urban decoration and design, this work “in black” does not leave people indifferent. Inspired by publicity, pop art, baroque art or calligraphy, NOIR Artist gracefully enumerates his hyper-realistic pictorial obsessions and his more abstract musings.
