Ignacy Jan Paderewski

The painting presents the coat of arms of Poland from 1919–1927 and Ignacy Jan Paderewski, an outstanding Polish pianist and composer, independence activist and statesman. It was his arrival in Poznań in 1918 and an ardent speech to the crowds delivered from the balcony of the Bazar Hotel in Poznań that became the impulse for the outbreak of the Greater Poland Uprising, thanks to which Leszno and Wielkopolska returned to the borders of independent Poland.

The mural is a joint project of Enea and Leszno self-government, Wielkopolska province governor, Unia Leszno Sports Club and the College of Social Skills. The author of the graphics is prof. Arkadiusz Marcinkowski.
