LLEGANDO A TU DESTINO Spanish for ‘Arriving to destination’ is the name of this new mural by Dourone, completed a few weeks ago in Estepona, Spain.

The 21 metre high mural portrays a woman who is, according to the artist, about to arrive to destination. The flowers are quite important in this work as they were inspired by this specific region of Spain. The value of respect, diversity and freedom continue to be omnipresent through these variety of symbols.

Dourone’s artworks are figurative and surrealistic, they combine bright colours with the illustrative line-work so characteristic of his paintings, always dominated by the female figure. Allegorical portraits that speak about womanhood and concepts like responsibility, solidarity, complementarity and creation, but also about an almost esoteric whole and infinity. The work reflects the artist’s so-called “sentipensante”* style revealing humanist ideals that question our place on earth and our responsibility in relation to this world.

El mural de 21 metros de altura representa a una mujer que, según el artista, está a punto de llegar a su destino. Las flores son bastante importantes en este trabajo ya que fueron inspiradas en esta región específica de España. El valor del respeto, la diversidad y la libertad sigue estando omnipresente a través de esta variedad de símbolos.

Las obras de Dourone son figurativas y surrealistas, combinan colores brillantes con las líneas ilustrativas tan características de sus pinturas, siempre dominadas por la figura femenina. Retratos alegóricos que hablan de la feminidad y de conceptos como responsabilidad, solidaridad, complementariedad y creación, pero también de un todo casi esotérico y del infinito. La obra refleja el estilo llamado “sentipensante”* del artista, que revela ideales humanistas que cuestionan nuestro lugar en la tierra y nuestra responsabilidad en relación con este mundo.
