Monarch of the End

Description

From the artist:

The title is an obvious nod to the @edwinlandseer painting of similar name. My illustration depicts one lord of the manor, presiding over all, in a three piece tweed suit, reclining in his Chesterfield chair of privilege, with the head of a stag beetle, the muzzle of a stag and the arms of an insect. His right claw clasps his staff, a gleaming fountain pen with a missile for an ink cartridge, denoting the pen mightier than the sword. His left claw rests hesitant on the handle of a detonator with the hazard symbol of the world wide web, signifying the inevitable decline and uncertain future of mankind if we remain in the shallows of social media and its wicked ways. We will answer to him if we continue to perform in this pantomime and cling to its counterfeit agenda.
