Description

This large-scale mural depicts a single female figure against a luminous yellow background filled with expressive, painterly textures. The naturalistic figure contrasts with the expressive and partly abstract areas of the background. The mural was created in 2017 as part of the Vancouver Mural Festival.

Cam Scale an Australian artist and muralist who began his artistic career in Sydney before spending many years immersed in Melbourne's street-art and graffiti scene. His practice includes large-scale murals as well as studio and digital work, using media such as aerosol, oil and acrylic. Portraiture and large-scale figurative imagery are important elements of his artistic practice.

Loretta Lizzio also frequently works with the human figure, often combining it with elements of the natural world. This mural is one of the artists' collaborative works in Vancouver.
