Caerulea Tepescents

Description

"Caerulea Tepescents" Mural at Hosier Lane, Melbourne by Michal Plis. What are you feeling?

Fresh on the walls of Hosier Lane, Melbourne! Check it out before it disappears! Have blue light or a UV torch. Check it out in the evening as well. It has a different feel.

This piece is a continuing expansion of my Roundism universe, heavily inspired by a sudden rush of warmth, memory, and cultural energy. Standing at the Italian Festival over the weekend, enveloped by the vibrant music, flavors, and rich culture, my mind drifted to the timeless, deep azure of the Italian and Melbournian coastline, and the approaching warmer months ahead for us here in Melbourne 🔵🔴.

Visually, the artwork explores the kinetic dance between opposing forces. It captures that exact, intoxicating moment of swimming in the sea during a deep sunset, where the fading solar heat meets the vast, cool depths of the water. They don't fight; they dance together in overlapping, rhythmic spheres.

The title, Caerulea Tepescents, is rooted in Latin. Caerulea represents the deep, immaterial blue of the infinite, while Tepescents signifies the active process of warming up, thawing, and glowing. It is the literal embodiment of "cool warmth", the invisible transition from the stillness of winter into the radiating, passionate renewal of spring.

Step into the laneway, find the rhythm in the circles, and feel the glow.
