This section of the Queen Street mural in Croydon blends Leah Grant’s vibrant floral patterns with Jack Fran’s realistic portraiture, creating a striking scene of a sleeping figure surrounded by butterflies, painterly textures, and a subtle nod to Queen’s album imagery. It is one piece within a broader series created by the two artists as part of the transformation of the old factory site.
I photographed this mural while passing by in a car and didn’t realise there were additional artworks along the side of the building—hopefully I can capture the rest next time I’m in the area.
