"Artist Anthea Missy asked some 200 users of the Bockstael metro station what they would like to see when they get off the metro.
The results of this survey have been translated into the mural she is currently completing at Bockstael station.
From left to right, the work shows the transition between the interior of the metro - with its characteristically colourful panels (Jean Glibert) - and the idealised outside world, where bicycle paths and nature await us. Homeless people who were sleeping next to the work helped her to distribute leaflets.
For the French artist, the work is also imbued with her own experience and nostalgia, when as a child she rode around the city on the back of her mother's bicycle. "I recognise myself in the child in the back who dreams and enjoys the journey on the bike, even if short, yes," she says.
