"My highlight of last year! In the immediate vicinity of an old concrete block facade, the mural makes direct reference to the wall design of the GDR. The optical illusion of a bend in the play of colors refers to the optician Ernst Abbe, after whom the street in which the mural is located is named. The recurring shrinking and growing of the pattern is a symbol of Halle-Neustadt's big demographic changes in the last decades.

I really like how the old neighboring facade and my mural form a unity to become a common space.

It was quite a challenge to construct the design on the large wall and to manage the large number of colors. To save money and materials, we mixed every second color ourselves on site.

I was also very happy about a great opening celebration with music, food and games for children that our team organized."
