Moomins and Grenades

We had an amazing story how an artist, a gloomy tattoo master, challenged himself. He decided to test his strength not in a tattoo, where he already found his style, but in something new that would allow him to get out of the comfort zone to say to himself after that "Yes, I can do it".

Seva Stekolshchuk is well known in Ekaterinburg to those who are interested in tattooing. He works in a gloomy style of black noir. That's why it was a surprise for us when Seva sent us a bright sketch about goodness. We were amazed by this contrast and now his work shines on the wall of the unit substation at 60 Lenina Street.

Seva calls himself a specialist in Grenades (it is very important that the Pomegranate is written exclusively with a capital letter – it's a well-respected fruit). We asked him a lot about how he came to such an atypical work for him and Seva gave a very lively and understandable explanation:

"I wanted to add a little color to our Ural "summer". I thought we were tired of its drabness. A bit of the south, Georgia and warm color wouldn't hurt the Ural drabness.

And I love grenades as a symbol. They have clearly permeated my work recently. Talking of Moomins, they are cool and fairytales with them tell us about serious and good things. It's a good and warm image, which both children and adults can understand".
