BARCARES STREET ART MUSEUM

BARCARÈS STREET ART MUSEUM: Unique in Occitanie, international street artists reinvent an extraordinary space... 8 giant structures made of stacked sea containers including 4 monumental ones culminating at more than 15m high invade the Gardens of Lydia. Stroll among these gigantic works and let yourself be carried away by their eclectic universe!
Today, there are 6 structures painted by 6 different artists last Summer. This was painted in the port village of Barcarès by the foot of the museum boat Le Lidya to freshen up the Arts Alley that was created in 1969. They couldn’t have choses a better representation of today's street artist community.
Julieta XLF (@julieta_xlf): Originally from Valencia (Spain), Julieta reminds us that each element of Nature is linked to the others. This connection between the artist and Nature is omnipresent in her frescoes and highlights another aspiration, the reconnection between human beings and Nature. In her eyes, our duty is to protect the planet, out of respect and love for our environment and ourselves.
Her wall is called "Sadness" and it is both a cry from the sea and a cry for humanity. This work testifies to a need for empathy, the will of a hand extended to the world to limit its degradation. The B-side is more joyful with a young girl playing with sea animals.
Kraser (@krasertres) is a Spanish artist and graphic designer born in Cartagena, he is now based in Milan (Italy). His works are influenced by an eclectic mix of ancient, surrealist, and lowbrow art. Its goal is to convey an emotion through a mixture of ironic and dreamlike concepts, while allowing the viewer to develop his own interpretation. Today you can admire his works all over the world (Milan, Athens, Miami, Berlin, Kiev...).
Alber (https://www.instagram.com/alberoner/) is foremost a graffitiartist and street art figure of Gironde, He takes his characters to the four corners of France. Their bright colors and multiple lines meet in a powerful way, inviting us to open our eyes and let ourselves be surprised at the bend of a street.
Case Maclaim (https://www.instagram.com/case_maclaim/), is a German artist and he’s one of the founders of the Ma'Claim collective known for its photo-realistic murals. He has particularly distinguished himself by his compositions highlighting the hand, which he sees as a symbol of unity and power. He always represents them with finesse and precision (from https://quai36.com/en/artist/case-maclaim).
Deih ( @deih.xlf) is an illustratorand muralist artist from Valencia (Spain), he recently developed a project called "The Insider", which is part of an introspective investigation into his life and feelings. Thus, he understands the codes of representation of science fiction to reach (build) a personal truth. He considers himself a human filled with an inner crowd whose conversations he recounts on the walls.
The wall he painted here is called NUR, which means light, a mystic light, the light of ecstasy, the light of life. The work is an homage to his niece that was born when he was painting this extraordinary wall. NB: I couldn't take photo of this one as it had been dismantled for the construction of the Chirstmas market. Photo taken from Deih's Instagram and art.of.my.street Instagram page.
Veks Van Hillik (https://www.instagram.com/veksvanhillik/?hl=fr): is a renowned artist of the Lowbrow movement in France and abroad. He has always drawn, inspired by the fauna and flora that surround him that have become the main subject of his works. Tattoo artist, painter and street artist, he is rightly considered a genius of the discipline. His works are distinguished by the surrealist paw of the artist who is inspired as much by the works of the illustrator Gustave, Caravaggio, Ingres, Dali or the texts of André Breton.
