He comes from Egypt's street art scene, which exploded during the 2011 revolution.He supported the revolution with his highly political murals in the center of Cairo.To do this, he gave up his job as a lecturer at the art academy in Luxor and moved to Cairo.The revolution did not have the desired success and Ammar Abo Bakar was often summoned by the police because of his work.In contrast, he can work in Cologne and in many other places in the free world with official approval.His works use old pop art traditions.In Cologne he worked for City Leak 2015. 

Er entspringt der Streetart-Szene Ägyptens, die in der Revolution 2011 explodierte. Mit seinen hochpolitischen Wandbildern im Zentrum Kairos unterstützte er die Revolution. Dafür gab er seinen Job als Lehrbeauftragter an der Kunstakademie in Luxor auf und zog nach Kairo. Die Revolution hatte nicht den gewünschten Erfolg und Ammar Abo Bakar wurde wegen seiner Arbeit öfters von der Polizei vorgeladen. Im Gegensatz dazu kann er in Köln und auch an vielen anderen Plätzen in der freien Welt behördlich genehmigt arbeiten. Seine Werke bedienen sich der Popart alter Tradition. In Köln hat er für City Leaks 2015 gearbeitet.
