The Devenish Silo was the 19th Silo to be completed in the Australian Silo Art Trail and it was completed just in time for Anzac Day 2018. 
The Devenish Silo displays a stunning image of a Word War 1 nurse and a modern female military medic. Two service women 100 years apart.

During WW1 Devenish Victoria had a population of approximately 300 people and of those 300 people, 50 enlisted into the war. That’s one in six people. Seven diggers died and never came home. Like many other communities in Australia, the war’s impact is still remembered by the town of Devenish. The people wanted to mark the 100 year anniversary of the war, so with over 100 people individually donating they came up with the $20,000 that was required to paint the mural.

The silos were painted by a Melbourne street artist, Cam Scale and over 11 days. It is said  that the mural is a celebration of the changing roles of women in the military and society in general.
