Wie een brug bouwt...

Description

The façade panel ‘Whoever builds a bridge…’ is situated on the façade at the corner of Molenwaterweg and Proveniersstraat. Rotterdam-based designer Saskia van de Ree combined a photograph of the nearby Provenierssingel with the well-known line of poetry ‘Whoever builds a bridge to another can always go back and forth’ by Jana Beranová, Rotterdam’s poet laureate emerita.

The artwork was created in September 2021 on the initiative of local residents. They wanted to install a piece of art that would symbolise the connections between people in the neighbourhood. The poet was the guest of honour at the artwork’s unveiling.
