Behind Yeye Weller are two friends, who have known each other since their school days. One friend is responsible for the creative work and designs the illustrations on the computer. The other is good at spraycans who brings the digital ideas on the wall. Their focus lies on illustrations and exhibitions. Yeye Weller's illustrations are strongly reminiscent of the designs for advertising figures and graphics from the 1970s. When I first saw the wall, I immediately thought of the German Lemonade Apfelsinchen that has adorned the fizzy drink bottles in regional drinks markets for many decades.

Sven Niemann is a PhD student at the Institute for German Studies and Comparative Literature at the University of Paderborn. His research interests are political graffiti, protest language and forms of minimal writing in public space. Since 2014 he has been leading public graffiti tours for the tourist information office in Paderborn. As a team member of the Secret City Fassadenfestival, he promotes the visibility of urban art in his adopted home of Paderborn.
