L’artista reinterpreta in chiave moderna il Secondo Cielo, quello di Mercurio, che è caratterizzato dall’amore per la fama: Dante vi incontra, infatti, gli spiriti che si attivarono per la gloria terrena. Il riferimento centrale in questo Cielo è quello alla morte di Cristo, che Neve rappresenta nella sua visione attraverso un arcangelo (gli arcangeli sono descritti dal Sommo Poeta come le intelligenze motrici di questo Cielo) che tiene in mano un sudario, a richiamare appunto i temi dell’incorruttibilità e della resurrezione. Anche quest’opera fa parte del progetto “Le Cabine del Paradiso”.

The artist reinterprets the Second Heaven, that of Mercury, in a modern key, which is characterized by the love of fame: Dante encounters there, in fact, the spirits who were activated for earthly glory. The central reference in this Sky is to the death of Christ, which Neve represents in his vision through an archangel (the archangels are described by the Supreme Poet as the driving intelligences of this Sky) who holds a shroud in his hand, to recall the themes of incorruptibility and resurrection. This work is also part of the “Le Cabine del Paradiso” project.
