Hasselt is tussen 12 en 19 oktober 2024 gaststad voor de 'Week van de Belgische mode'. Om dit evenement - waarbij Hasseltse boetieks en Belgische modemerken in de spotlights worden geplaatst - onder de aandacht te brengen, maakte Marylène Madou deze muurschildering op de muur naastVisit Hasselt.

Op de mural zie je 'The Limburg Six': de 6 ambassadeurs van de 'Week van de Belgische mode'. Naast Marylène Madou zijn dit Sander Bos, Matteo La Rossa, Tessa Borrenberghs, Jordy Arthur en Marie Vanpuyenbroeck. 

Marylène Madou staat als textiel- en modeontwerpster bekend om haar gedetailleerde digitale prints. Deze prints ontwikkelt ze zelf, op basis van haar eigen tekeningen, schilderijen en collages. Madou is de oprichtster van The Print Archive en runt haar eigen modelabel: Marylène Madou.

Hasselt will host the ‘Week of Belgian Fashion’ between 12 and 19 October 2024. To draw attention to this event - which puts Hasselt's boutiques and Belgian fashion brands in the spotlight - Marylène Madou created this mural on the wall next to Visit Hasselt.

As a textile and fashion designer, Marylène Madou is known for her detailed digital prints. She develops these prints herself, based on her own drawings, paintings and collages. Madou is the founder of The Print Archive and runs her own fashion label: Marylène Madou.
