T.I.R.R.C. - TENNESSEE IMMIGRANT & REFUGEE RIGHTS COALITION MURAL
THE STORY:
70ft x 20ft spray paint on corrugated metal.
TIRRC wanted to fully transform their new building and bring it to life, full of color and movement and messaging of inclusiveness for all.
They wanted me to create a wild abstract piece that represented the colorful world we live in, migration (the fractals mosaic pattern flowing through the building) and movement, with tons of bright, bold colors, shapes, textile patterns. The building is going to be an incredible community space, surrounded by a soccer field, playground, gardens, more murals and set just south of Nashville in the neighborhood of Antioch, where I spent some of my teenage years.
2 other amazing artists, Woke3 and Cosby Hayes, created pieces for the other sides of the building, to make it a fully wrapped stand alone structure, shining like a beacon of positivity, hope, freedom and welcomeness in the community :)
The message is “Welcome home, Welcome all”.
I can’t wait to see the space filled with families learning, playing and creating!
