DONES AMUNT!

This mural, painted by artist Planxat, is part of the interventions of the Festival "Keep it written 2024" in Xeraco, Valencia, organized by local artists Peloch, Elrond and the crew Grow Up, and sponsored by the town local Council.

The mural "Women Arise" pays homage to the brave Valencian Women. It features a Fallera ( traditional Valencian Female Character) with her typical attire and hair style, facing adversity, impersonated by another woman who displays the shadow of a beast. On top, another woman holding up high a Valencian orange (as though it was a golden price), symbolizing Victory.

The figures are heavily stylized with expressive, non-realistic features in an example of illustration with conceptual meaning

The composition uses a bold, complementary color scheme. The deep purple background makes the contrasting warm peach architectural shape and the central figure's vivid red dress pop out.
