Nordsternpark is a 100-hectare public park in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, located on the grounds of a former coal mine. It blends industrial history with green spaces, bike paths, family attractions and houses one of Gelsenkirchens Halls of Fame.
My personal highlights:
The Hercules, created by Markus Lüpertz. An 18-meter-tall statue sitting on top of the old 83-meter-high mining tower, offering great views of the region.
Double-Arch Bridge, a striking red steel footbridge crossing the canal, which is a very popular spot for photos.
