Danny Trejo

The monumental artwork pays tribute to Hollywood actor Danny Trejo, and was commissioned to mark the opening of his restaurant at 301 Portobello Road. The mural covers the entire first and second floors of the building. It depicts Danny Trejo’s iconic, weathered face in a high-contrast black-and-white style. The mural is designed so that the building’s windows blend seamlessly into the portrait.

The work was created by the Spanish artist and muralist Jose Luis Rodriguez, who is active online and in the street art world under his artist name Peralte1.618. Rodriguez lives and works in London and is closely connected to the local art scene. Among other things, he runs street art workshops at the well-known Graffik Gallery, which is also located on Portobello Road.
