This photorealistic facade artwork in Frankfurt's Nordend district depicts the prominent portrait of the famous German mathematician, astronomer, and physicist Carl Friedrich Gauß. Created in 2015 by artist Thomas Stolz, the mural spans several stories of a residential building on the corner of Friedberger Landstrasse and Gaußstrasse. The large-scale wall painting is designed in a characteristic line-raster style, which strongly resembles the classic portrait once featured on the former 10-DM-banknote.
