Arrf de Wolf is een in Gent geboren straatkunstenaar wiens werk onlosmakelijk verbonden is met het visuele ritme van de stad. Arrf merkte dat dit wezen een unieke emotionele lading droeg: een mix van folklore, instinct en rauwe aanwezigheid die de kijker direct confronteert. Net als een graffititag duikt de wolf steeds weer op in verschillende steden, maar in tegenstelling tot een tag kan hij emotie, richting en een verhaal uitdrukken. Hij kan kijken, reageren en bestaan ​​binnen een verhaal.

Voor le MUR d’Anvers koos Arrf ervoor om de wolf in zijn geheel af te beelden, uitgestrekt op zijn rug, kalm, bijna onverschillig. Achter hem een ​​subtiel brandend bos. Een wereld in vlammen… maar de wolf wendt zich af, gefocust op zijn eigen instincten. Net zoals een dier zou doen. De muurschildering wordt een stille metafoor voor afleiding, ontkenning en overleven in een tijd van wereldwijde spanning.

Arrf the Wolf is a Ghent‑born street artist whose work has become inseparable from the city’s visual rhythm. Growing up just outside Ghent in a creative family, he first moved through the graffiti scene under another name, painting letters and exploring abandoned industrial zones that shaped his early practice. Over time, he discovered that his true voice wasn’t in typography but in characters. From his home and studio in Ghent where the living room doubles as a workspace, he continues to send his signature wolf out into the world.

The wolf emerged after years of experimentation with different animals. Arrf noticed that this creature carried a unique emotional charge: a mix of folklore, instinct, and raw presence that immediately confronts the viewer. Like a graffiti tag, the wolf reappears across cities, but unlike a tag, it can express emotion, direction, and narrative. It can look, react, and exist within a story.

For le MUR d’Anvers, Arrf chose to show the wolf in full, stretched out on its back, calm, almost indifferent. Behind him, a subtle forest on fire. A world burning… yet the wolf turns away, focused on its own instincts. Just like an animal would. The mural becomes a quiet metaphor for distraction, denial, and survival in a time of global tension.

Creative freedom is central to Arrf’s practice. While curation has its place, he believes street art thrives when artists can express ideas unfiltered, without being shaped by a single taste or agenda. His wolf embodies that freedom, roaming, adapting, and resisting categorization.
