Description

Collage by Toby Laurent Belson, a well-known and active community artist, designer and teacher in West London, who has deep ties to the neighbourhood around Portobello Road and North Kensington. He is known for his unique collage style called “Samplism”, through which he constructs complex portraits and abstract forms from textures and fragments. Belson is also the founder of the local art initiative Brownbaby and is closely involved in various public art projects and community initiatives in the neighbourhood (including creative projects commemorating Grenfell). Part of the public art installation on Portobello Wall, launched 14th of May 2024.
