Large-format sculpture based on the Diorama series, whose scale fills the space of an old factory linked to the cork industry. Its intricate design expresses the close relationship between human beings and the environment in which they work - a complex web of reciprocal influence that gives form and substance to the relationship between the two. Made from cork, the piece explores the juxtaposition between the social and cultural entity of the individual and the industrial environment in which he or she carries out his or her activity, also reflecting on the role of industry in the economy and the lack of investment that the secondary sector has suffered in Portugal in recent decades. Portrait is of an employee of the factory.
