Žižkovská krajka (Žižkov lace)

In August 2026, the grey building of the Prague Public Transit Company, standing in the middle of Kostnické náměstí, was transformed into a stunning mural by the world-renowned Polish street artist NeSpoon.

The idea was initiated by the Urban Pictus street art festival, while the mural’s realization is also part of the Žižkovská spojka festival. The 150-square-metre surface of the utility building has been adorned with an artwork inspired by an exceptionally decorative 17th-century lace pattern, discovered by the artist in the archives of the National Museum.

It took exactly 10 days to transform what had previously been an unremarkable building into a striking work of contemporary mural art.

As announced, NeSpoon plans to return to Prague in 2027 to cover another, slightly hidden wall of the building — tucked away next to the staircase — with her signature lace motif.

The mural was created with the support of Prague 3 District and the Polish Institute in Prague.
