Since March 2007, law students entering the Humanities Building 1, Block C, are greeted by vibrant, colorful paragraph symbols and the words "Law" and "Justice" in around 40 different languages. These lively wall surfaces were created by Edeltraut Rath, an artist living in Hastedt. The translations of the legal terms were largely provided by students from the Law Department.
The artwork consists of four painted wall surfaces. On two of these walls, the words "Law" and "Justice" are depicted in various languages and bright colors. Opposite these are two additional walls featuring abstracted paragraph symbols. This dialogic concept, embodying the idea of question and answer—*question et réponse*—mirrors the central method of truth-seeking in the practice of law.
