Railway Hotel Mural

Description

Painted on the side of the old stables attached to the Railway Hotel. It features the town’s former train station and the old steam train that used to come through here. The canvas for the mural, the old stable, is part of the pub.

“It’s a great old building,” Mr Bowtell said. “I’ve tried to leave some of the brickwork around the outside to keep its history, (rather than) blasting a colourful picture right over the whole wall.”

The mural includes the image of local Jake David French (Jakey Boy), grandson of the hotel owners (?) who lost his battle with cancer at the ripe age of 7.
