PINA BAUSCH GALLERY WUPPERTAL TANZT - EDITION 2025

THE ARTIST - Nils Westergard is a Belgian-American street artist and filmmaker from Richmond, Virginia. He started with stencils and graffiti when he was a teenager. In the following years he developed a unique style with which he created murals all over the world. His work explores themes of intimacy, strength and vulnerability.

THE PROJECT: 'Wuppertal Tanzt' is a homage to the dance choreographer Pina Bausch in the public space of the city of Wuppertal. WUPPERTAL DANCE deals with its 15 international dance co-productions and has them individually interpreted by urban artists from the respective co-production countries in the public space of the city of Wuppertal.

WUPPERTAL TANZT are 10 murals for 10 city districts - 10 dance stories, 10 countries, 10 artists, 10 views and 10 perspectives by international street artists.
