A huge mural by Silvija Drebickaitė covering the entire wall of Antakalnis Junior High School depicts recognisable symbols of Vilnius: Gediminas Castle, the flowing Neris River, Vilnius’s Old Town, and its architecture. Fun fact: the artist took a course in scaffolding specifically to create this work. This work is a painting previously created by the artist transferred onto the building’s wall. The artist handled the proportions and the task of scaling it up masterfully. Unfortunately, we lost this artist in 2020.
Silvija Drebickaitė painted one wall of the building in 2018, and in 2022, Vytautas Poška completed the work based on her sketches by painting the second wall of the school (will add a photo soon).
