Sào anjos que ali vem

Description

Each street, no matter how crooked or narrow, holds countless stories. As it is impossible to tell them all, Histórias Viandantes decided to pay homage to some.

The lugger Gaspar was one of the sailing ships belonging to the Portuguese cod fleet. Captain Manuel Mendes, with his two sons, Manuel and Jacob, were embarked on one of the campaigns, when it was reported in Viana do Castelo that the ship had sunk. Months later, when the city saw the ship reach the port, it realized it had been a mistake. The family says that Maria Mendes, or Dona Marucas, the captain's wife and mother of his children, with the sudden joy of returning, went crazy and was never the same again.
