FARS

puppet theater

Description

Electrical box next to the puppet theater painted by Fars.

The work shows three figures standing near curtains, most likely on stage: [from the left] a woman in everyday folk costume, the so-called kuker (a traditional folk masquerade) and a man in a suit; next to the last-mentioned we see two plates with inscriptions "nasam" (from Bulgarian: here) and "natam" (there).

It is said that Fars was the first in Bulgaria who started to paint electrical boxes like this.

Street art is not only my passion, but also part of my doctoral studies at the art faculty. I’m mostly into street art in Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania and I’m particularly fascinated by this kind of art in less urbanized areas.
