Portrait of Micheal

Nils says:

"I met Michael when I painted his wall on the Pine St. Barber Shop in Oregon Hill a few years ago. Since then I have played chess with him weekly and listened to his stories of a bygone Richmond, which was one of the things I missed most during covid lockdowns. Michael also got me playing the guitar and ultimately gave me his, for which I am very grateful. He always says that he is living like a king, on his porch with a beer and a fiddle, or mandolin, or guitar. This wall was a pain, the wood slats were a very challenging texture and the weather got so hot the spraycans burned your hand when you pick them up, but that makes it all the more worthwhile."
