At the corner of Biltstraat and Willem Barentszstraat, you can find a poem by Utrecht poet Ingmar Heytze.

The poem and the two accompanying images were painted on the brick wall by artist Lonneke van Zutphen.

The mural was commissioned by SSH (Stichting Studentenhuisvesting). The reason for creating the mural on the side wall of the SSH building was the retirement of Jan van der Moolen, who was chairman of the SSH Supervisory Board at the time.

The theme of the mural is “coming and going.” The location fits this theme perfectly: the mural is situated along a busy approach road into Utrecht, close to the Berenkuil traffic interchange, where people are constantly on the move.

No matter how often you left

Just as often you arrived

Every trace remains

Where you were leaves its mark

No step that you take

Will ever be retraced

You have not yet left here

Or you have come from there

Op de hoek van de Biltstraat en de Willem Barentszstraat staat een gedicht van de Utrechtse dichter Ingmar Heytze.

Het gedicht en de twee bijbehorende afbeeldingen zijn door kunstenares Lonneke van Zutphen op de bakstenen muur aangebracht.

Opdrachtgever van de schildering is de SSH (Stichting Studentenhuisvesting). Aanleiding voor de schildering op de zijgevel van het SSH-gebouw was het afscheid van Jan van der Moolen, destijds voorzitter van de raad van commissarissen van de SSH.

Het thema van de schildering is ‘komen en gaan’. De locatie past daar goed bij: de schildering bevindt zich aan een drukke toegangsweg van Utrecht, vlak bij verkeersplein de Berenkuil, waar voortdurend mensen onderweg zijn.
