Mercury and Psyche

For their first mural in Toronto, we selected the sculpture Mercury and Psyche made by the sculptor Reinhold Begas as inspiration for this mural. The sculpture depicts the moment in which Mercury (or Hermes) finds Psyche, since his mission was seeking, helping and taking her to the Olympus.
We liked the idea of Mercury finding and helping Psyche, carrying her on his back. One of the names of the city of Toronto is believed to mean “meeting place” or “plenty”, and we came to know that it’s one of the cities with more foreign-born population in the whole world, which make the city a real meeting point.
