This piece is part of a bigger project called "Reforesting". Its aim is to revive abandoned city walls to introduce the viewer to the poetic world of medicinal herbs, with special attention to endemic plants of the territory. The flower depicted here has soothing and emollient properties, together with its ornamental beauty. It gets its name from the greek world "althain", which means "to heal". The concept of healing transcends the medical reasoning, including also the need to heal the territory we inhabit. Beacuse this wall is located at one of the entry points of the old town of Torino, it proposes itself as a gentle entrace to the city.
