Dedicated to Alpini

The Alpini are the highly specialized mountain troops of the Italian Army. The hat is the best known and most representative element of their uniform. It is made up of many elements designed to represent the rank, regiment and specialty to which it belongs.

The pen is certainly the distinctive element of the Alpine troops. About 25-30 cm long, it is worn on the left side of the hat, slightly tilted backwards; for the troops it is black and from raven, for non-commissioned officers and junior officers it is brown, from eagle while for senior and general officers it is from white goose.

In the mural there is the Mole Antonelliana, the building that characterizes Turin, the mountain landscape that surrounds Turin and an Alpine soldier with a mule, his faithful companion on the peaks and in the trenches.

The writing "la Veja" (in Piedmont language, in English 'The old One') refers to the section of the National Alpine Association (A.N.A.) established in February 1920.
